William Riley, LCSWI have worked in the field of social work and psychotherapy since 1986. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Psychology and Communication from St. John Fisher College in 1983, and my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Syracuse University in 1986.

As a therapist for the past eighteen years, my area of expertise ranges from treating Borderline Personality Disorder to Addictions, Anxiety and Mood Disorders. I have worked extensively with adolescents and adults challenged with Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. In my professional experience I have worked with children and adolescents in a home-based family therapy agency which was designed to keep families together and children out of the hospital.

I have more than eight years of experience working with the seriously and persistently mentally ill who were additionally challenged with substance abuse. I am also experienced in family and marriage counseling.

My therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral with attention to the stages of change usually used in
addiction treatment.
